The 1995 edition of this publication contains a much larger set of internationally comparable educational indicators than previous editions. For the first time, differing public expectations of education systems and the professional and demographic characterisitics of teachers and their salaries can be compared. Two indicators - on personnel and research budgets - are a first. Information on adult and continuing education eludicate the advantages of different instruction levels, helping to shape analyses of employment policies. The book also provides colorful charts showing how the education system of each country is structured.
