De profondes parentés rapprochent leurs oeuvres plastiques et théâtrales, à la croisée de l'Existentialisme, qui s'expriment dans une collaboration exceptionnelle en 1961 : la réalisation par Giacometti d'un décor pour une mise en scène de la pièce En attendant Godot.
