Chance and necessity played a major role in the lives of the Lladro brothers. In postwar Spain, thanks to experimentation, virtuosity and perseverance, they created the company that bears their name and that brought decorative porcelain sculpture to homes around the world. Their figurines exude a sense of refinement with a marked formal stylisation and a palette reduced to grey, white and beige that became their hallmark. Its flowers soon became Lladro's star product, creating a characteristic style for the brand. A quick and sustained expansion brought their figurines to international markets, and gained Lladro porcelain a name as a precious luxury product. Privileged collectors from the artists' studios, figurines that are put to the test of fire at over 1300° in the kiln.
