From autumn to the following spring, wildlife artist Alan Johnston walked the footpaths of the Ornithological Park and its surroundings with his sketchbooks, watercolours, brushes and pencil to record his visual souvenirs. Within this book one can find many lively sketches of birds : Teal, Grey Geese and Spoonbills but also Wild Boar or the shy Water Vole, not forgetting some highly detailed studies of insects and plants or even objects Pound on the tide-line, like the sand crab or a fish Lure which imitates a 'priest' !
