Philosophe majeur de notre époque, Henri Maldiney, né en 1912, a élaboré solitairement une phénoménologie consacrée à l'art et à la poésie (Cézanne, Tal Coat, Francis Ponge, du Bouchet, etc.). Il a contribué à la « daseinanalyse », en introduisant et discutant Ludwig Binswanger, et à une philosophie des sens (Erwin Straus). Remarquable lecteur des « classiques » grecs et allemands qu'il questionne sans cesse, il explore le mystère de l'existence humaine en allant à « la chose même » et en misant sur « l'ouvert », qui confère à l'humain son humanité. A major philosopher of our times, Henri Maldiney, born in 1912, elaborated alone a phenomenology devoted to art and poetry (Cézanne, Tal Coat, Francis Ponge, du Bouchet, etc.). He contributed to ‘daseinanalysis' by introducing and discussing Ludwig Binswanger, and to a philosophy of the senses (Erwin Straus). An outstanding reader of the Greek and German classics which he constantly questioned, he explored the mystery of human existence by going straight to ‘the thing itself' and advocating ‘openness', which confers to human beings their humanity.
