Le cardinal Joseph Ratzinger fait partie des théologiens qui marquent depuis plusieurs années la vie de l'Église. Longtemps professeur de théologie (à Tubingue et à Ratisbonne), puis archevêque de Munich, il a beaucoup fait parler de lui depuis qu'il a été nommé à la tête de la Congrégation pour la Doctrine de 1a Foi, en prenant position notamment sur le catéchisme, la théologie de la Libération ou le bilan de l'Église post-conciliaire (« Entretiens sur la foi »). Y aurait-il un lien ou une rupture entre les positions magistérielles du cardinal et l'œ uvre antérieure du théologien, cofondateur de la revue « Concilium » et dont le livre « La Foi chrétienne hier et aujourd'hui » (1969, réédité en 1985) avait été salué pour son équilibre et son ouverture ? Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is one of the theologians who has marked the life of the Church in recent years. Professor of theology (in Tubingue and Ratisbonne), then archbishop of Munich, he has often been the subject of discussion since he was named at the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, taking position especially on the Catechism, Liberation Theology and the post-Council Church ("Entretiens sur la foi"). Is there a link - or a break - between the Cardinal's magisterial positions and his former work as a theologian and cofounder of the review "Concilium" he whose book "La Foi chrétienne hier et aujourd'hui" (1969, reprinted in 1985) was hailed for its equilibrium and open spirit?
