Diebenkorn became a leading artist among the Bay Area Figurative painters. Art historian Sasha Nicholas discusses Diebenkorn's place in post-war American painting and his independence from the art world trends. Steven Nash conducts an interview with Diebenkorn's close friend Wayne Thiebaud.
